Gold and silver hunting stock pin

This traditional stock pin is made of gold and silver and stamped 9ct and Sil. The maker Alfred James Howe (A.J.H.) was a maker of good quality with fine detail stock pins. The hunting whip has a horse’s head in the centre surrounded by a horseshoe. The ends of the whip are made of silver. The pin fastens with a nappy pin type closure and has a loop to which a safety chain could be attached.
