Gold amethyst and seed pearl stock pin

This gold stock pin was made in the art nouveau period. It is stamped 9ct, the stamp being rather worn. The amethyst is set in the centre of two concentric circles of gold which are spaced by four seed pearls. Two elliptical bands of gold come out from the amethyst to form the wings of the pin, thin strands of gold then support two seed pearls in the centre. This is an excellent example of bygone craftsmanship. The pin fastens with a secure c clasp.
